Physician Resources E-M Changes for 2021
The System Office Integrity & Compliance and MGPS departments developed a course to update physicians, APPs and coders on the key changes in the 2021 E/M office code set:
- Revision of the code descriptors for codes 99202-99205 and 99211-99215
- Deletion of code 99201
- Elimination of history and/or physical examination as a component for code selection
- Selecting the level of service based on MDM or time
- Changes in the definition of MDM and time when used to report these codes
This presentation was conducted live on Oct. 7 and 8, and recorded and available on HealthStream for those who are unable to attend. Those who do not attend will receive an assignment via HealthStream. All employed physicians are expected to complete the course by Nov. 30, 2020.
