Daniel J. Roth, MD
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Daniel J. Roth, MD, executive vice president and chief operating officer, leads clinical and business operations across Trinity Health’s full continuum of care including hospitals and community-based care. This includes providing direct leadership to Regional Health Ministries (RHMs) and system services including quality, safety, ambulatory surgery, and health informatics, among others. He also serves as one of the executive sponsors for TogetherCare, Trinity Health’s instance of Epic.
Roth is a proven, results-driven leader whose accomplishments across multiple leadership positions have strengthened the organization since joining in 2015. Prior to his current role, he served as the chief clinical officer and chief community division operations leading Trinity Health’s clinical and ambulatory operations and strategy. He also held the role of senior vice president of clinical integration, where he oversaw the strategy for alternative payment models. Prior to joining Trinity Health, Roth served as chief medical officer for Mercy Health and president of Mercy Health Physicians in Cincinnati, Ohio and spent eight years as a full-time attending physician in internal medicine. He has received numerous awards for health care innovation, outreach and patient safety.
He is a member of the American College of Physicians and serves on Truveta’s Board of Directors. He also serves on Trinity Health Integrated Care and Trinity Assurance Ltd. Boards, and the Penn Medicine Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center’s External Advisory Board.
Roth earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and served as chief medical resident at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.
