Trinity Health Releases Statement Advocating for Commonsense Approaches to COVID-19 Prevention
July 6, 2020As a health care organization that is committed to public health and the common good, Trinity Health is a steadfast advocate for the simple, commonsense steps that are proven to help stop the spread of COVID-19: wearing a face mask, maintaining physical distancing and washing hands. We support the American Hospital Association, American Medical Association and American Nurses Association in their unified letter to the American public, urging everyone to remain vigilant in this effort.
At Trinity Health, our Mission calls on us to serve together, and that includes serving with all people to help keep our communities healthy. For more than 150 years, we have worked with families, schools, businesses, churches, media and others to promote good health, especially among people who are poor and vulnerable.
Like other public health crises that we have faced in the past, COVID-19 requires a united front to protect our communities and save lives, and Trinity Health has been consistent in urging action to keep people safe. We are grateful to everyone who has shared these messages and is helping to slow the pandemic – demonstrating that we can stay socially connected while remaining physically distant. This is important for us all, because improving public health behaviors will lead to faster recovery of our nation’s economic health.
Public health is everyone’s responsibility. Please join us in taking necessary steps to protect our families, our neighbors, our communities and each other from COVID-19. Our nation is depending on it.
