Support Relief Efforts for the People of Ukraine
March 3, 2022A message from Mike Slubowski, President & CEO
Dear Colleagues,
I have a few updates related to the email I sent last week about the tragic situation in Ukraine.
As a healing ministry, our hearts reach out to the people of Ukraine as we watch the continued devastation and violence they are suffering. Our commitment to community health and well-being means that we recognize the dignity of every person, their individual and collective freedom, and rights and responsibilities, including life in a safe environment. Because our promise to care for all knows no bounds.
Together, we mourn the lives being lost, as well as the freedom and sovereignty of a nation under siege. And please know, our thoughts are with colleagues who have family and friends living in Ukraine.
As we pray that world leaders will come together to end war and support the Common Good for all people, I want to share what we are doing as an organization and provide information on how you can support relief efforts as desired:
- Our social responsibility—Actions of violence and aggression do not align with Trinity Health's Mission or our commitment to socially responsible investing. As such, we are in the process of divesting all Russian holdings in our investment portfolio.
- Support for those who need it most—Our Supply Chain team is working with contacts to coordinate medical supply donations for hospitals in Ukraine and urging our suppliers to do the same.
-
How you can support Ukraine—Many of you have asked how you can support relief efforts and below are options if you would like to offer assistance.
- The U.S. Ukraine Foundation has established a fund to provide financial support for humanitarian efforts, including covering the costs of sending medical supplies to Ukraine.
- The U.S. Ukraine Foundation provides a list of other charitable organizations as well.
Again, thank you for all you do for Trinity Health, our communities and for each other.
Peace,
Mike
