The One Big Beautiful Bill Act recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives adds new Medicaid restrictions that amount to deep cuts in access to health care. If these changes become law, the Congressional Budget Office estimates at least 7.6 million people will become uninsured.

Mike Slubowski, president and CEO, recently spoke with Newsweek about the proposed cuts to Medicaid. The article highlights risks for patients and the health care industry as a whole should the proposed cuts come to fruition.

“We know when people don't have access to care, they forego preventive care and they end up in the emergency departments, which are already overflowing. It results in more costly care and interventions,” Slubowski explains.
