Trinity Health is pleased to welcome Peggy Norton-Rosko, DPN, RN, NEA-BC, as its new senior vice president and chief nursing officer. In this role, Norton-Rosko will lead the development of integrated care models, clinical services, and strategies that improve health care operations, quality, safety, and financial outcomes—ensuring the long-term growth and sustainability of Trinity Health. Norton-Rosko succeeds Gay Landstrom, PhD, RN, who retired from the health care system in September 2025, after nearly 27 years of service.

“Peggy comes into her new role with a commitment to supporting connected interprofessional care, a professional nursing practice environment and excellent patient care,” said Dan Roth, MD, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Trinity Health.  “In her extensive experience she has a proven record of transformational leadership across the continuum of care driving improvements in clinical outcomes, workforce development and patient experience.”

Prior to her current role, Norton-Rosko served as the senior vice president and chief nurse executive for the University of Maryland Medical System where she led nursing practice, standards of care, nursing professional development, operational effectiveness, academic practice partnerships and collaborated with community partners for workforce development programs. She also supported the system’s strategic planning, nursing workforce development, continuous clinical improvement initiatives and the organization's High Reliability journey.

“We are thrilled to welcome Peggy to our team,” said Rob Casalou, executive vice president and associate chief operating officer.  “She brings with her a dedication to advocating for nurses’ engagement in professional governance as a means to shape their practice and play a role in the improvement in patient outcomes.”

Her clinical experience spans many years as both an advanced practice nurse and a critical care nurse and she has served in affiliate and adjunct faculty roles at several schools of nursing throughout her career.

Norton-Rosko earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Science in nursing from Loyola University of Chicago and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University.
