Statement from President and CEO Mike Slubowski on President Biden's Commitment to Addressing Systemic Racism

Trinity Health applauds the Biden Administration for its commitment to addressing systemic racism including appreciating the importance of diversity training and directing federal agencies to take action to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

At Trinity Health, we take seriously our commitment to achieving racial equity. Guided by our Mission and Core Values, we are compelled to advocate for change and have developed a Racism is a Public Health Crisis policy to use in dialogue with local leaders. We acknowledge that racism exists in the health care delivery system, and appreciate that diversity training is one critical way to address it. At Trinity Health, we are providing training for colleagues on unconscious bias, health equity, systemic racism and cultural proficiency. While knowledge alone does not change behavior, it sets cultural and behavioral expectations that inspire us to look inward.
