THE UNIFIED ENTERPRISE MINISTRY®

The Unified Enterprise Ministry ® (UEM) focuses the organization on execution of strategies and accountability for performance. As a UEM, Trinity Health now approaches change together unless variation can be proven to create more value. Using small, multidisciplinary expert teams doing the work on behalf of the UEM, the enterprise now organizes around the imperatives and work to be done, versus working in silos. Each word holds special meaning:

“Unified” focuses on the ability to build a highly aligned delivery system that leverages both scale and skill. In such a diverse organization, Trinity Health must standardize process to create the kinds of effi ciencies and values that are necessary to provide higher quality care and develop a better cost structure.

“Enterprise” reflects a goal to become more accepting of business risk, even entrepreneurial. Managing an enterprise is different than administering a basic organization. It requires unique skills. Moving an organization to new places requires the commitment of highly trained executives who are willing to take risks and who conversely are willing to make mistakes from time to time.

“Ministry” recognizes that Trinity Health is rooted in its Catholic heritage, providing services to all, and especially to the more vulnerable persons who are unable to access health care.“
