Trinity Health Taps Mary Trimmer to Lead Project Genesis
NOVI, Mich. –– Trinity Health, Novi, Mich., has named Mary Trimmer
to Senior Vice President, Project Genesis Operations Leader.
In her new role, Trimmer will provide operational oversight for Trinity Health’s
initiative that unites state-of-the-art technology with clinical, revenue management
and supply chain management processes – all geared toward improving quality
of care, patient safety and financial performance.
Trimmer most recently served as President and CEO of Mercy Hospital, Port Huron,
Mich., a 104-bed hospital owned by Trinity Health.
In May of this year, Mercy Hospital became the first Trinity Health member
hospital to activate Project Genesis. Trimmer was instrumental in guiding the
clinical staff, administration and operations team through the transition to automated
clinical and revenue management systems. She will provide insight and leadership
during Project Genesis implementation at 17 other Trinity Health member organizations.
Benefits of Project Genesis include computerized physician order entry (CPOE);
the immediate transmission of orders to pharmacy, laboratory and radiology; computerized
test results reporting; and the accessibility of patient information at the point-of-care.
Improving these processes will help hospitals increase patient safety and enhance
quality of care.
During her nine-year leadership of Mercy Hospital, the Mercy Health Center
in Fort Gratiot was constructed and opened in 2001; Mercy Family Care expanded
to 10 physicians at five locations; the cancer program instituted advanced Radiation
Therapy and PET scan services; construction began on a new Emergency Room that
will open in November 2003; and Project Genesis was implemented earlier this year. |
