Trinity Health Physicians Named “Top Docs” by Their Peers
NOVI, MI (Oct. 4, 2006) – A total of 206 physicians from Trinity Health’s five member hospitals in Southeast Michigan were named Top Docs for 2006 in the October issue of Hour Detroit magazine.
The Top Docs list names 873 physicians who were nominated by their peers as people to whom they would refer their own patients and family members for diagnosis and treatment. Hour Detroit polled more than 6,000 medical professionals in metro Detroit’s to determine the best doctors in more than 70 specialties. More than a fifth of the doctors listed practice in Trinity Health hospitals.
The Trinity Health physicians on list represent many different specialties, from oncology to vascular surgery to orthopedics. In all, the physicians represent 50 specialties. On the same list, Trinity Health hospitals were recognized as “top hospitals” in the treatment of heart attack, heart bypass surgery, mental illness, and physical rehabilitation.
“This prestigious distinction is not only a mark of honor for our physicians and hospitals in Southeast Michigan, but also a helpful resource for patients and their families,” said Narendra Kini, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Trinity Health. “I congratulate all of our fine doctors. We strive to recruit the most talented physicians to our hospitals, and based on the number of practitioners on the Hour Detroit Top Docs list, it’s clear we’re getting the job done.”
More than 2,100 physicians throughout Southeast Michigan treat patients at the following Trinity Health hospitals – Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, Ann Arbor; St. Mary Mercy Hospital, Livonia; St. Joseph’s Mercy Oakland; St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Clinton Township; and Mercy Hospital – Port Huron.
The Trinity Health physicians who made the Top Docs list have been organized by the Trinity Health hospital with which they are affiliated, and also by specialty.
