Trinity Health Names Mathew Abraham President and CEO, Saint
Agnes Medical Center, Fresno, CA
Trinity Health has announced that Mathew Abraham will lead
Saint Agnes Medical Center (SAMC), Fresno, CA, as President
and CEO, effective January 2005. Most recently, Abraham was
CEO of the Antelope Valley Healthcare System, Lancaster, CA.
“Mathew is a seasoned healthcare executive who will
bring new leadership and vision to Saint Agnes Medical Center,”
said Marsha Casey, Trinity Health Executive Vice President
– Western Division. “He has held health care senior
management positions for over 20 years, almost all of that
time in California.”
According to SAMC board and search committee chair, Lowell
Carruth, the committee was impressed by his experience in
managed care, financial management and his overall leadership
abilities. “He has an impressive list of accomplishments
at the Antelope Valley system and a deep knowledge of the
demanding and competitive California healthcare environment,”
Carruth said.
Abraham said he is looking forward to taking the helm at
SAMC. “Saint Agnes has an excellent reputation for its
commitment to quality and providing faith-based care in the
Central Valley.”
Abraham has a MBA from George Washington University, Washington,
DC, a Bachelor of Health Service Administration from the Canadian
School of Management, Toronto, Canada and a BS degree from
the University of Calgary, Canada. He is a Fellow of the American
College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a member of the
American Academy of Medical Administrators and a member of
the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).
