-- Foundation of Beliefs
for Patient Care Leadership
Changing demographics, government regulations, heightened
security, groundbreaking technologies and medical procedures,
enhanced levels of health care service. While the challenges
and complex issues of today’s health care industry continue
to evolve, the need for exceptional, devoted and professionally
satisfied nurses continues to be the foundation for compassionate
care delivery.
What do today’s nurses value most in the environment
in which they work? The answer goes beyond salary and benefits
to specific aspects of workplace environment, flexibility,
management support and work-life balance.
Clinical Care Redesign
To this end, Trinity Health is transforming its workplace
environment and processes to provide nurses with better leadership
support, enhanced technologies and expanded career and personal
achievement opportunities. Several clinical redesign projects
have been selected for pilot implementation to improve the
quality and efficiency of care delivery. These pilot programs
have met with resounding success and are currently being replicated
across the system’s member organizations.
RN Refresher Program and BSN Completion Program
Nurses who have been away from hospital nursing and are thinking
of returning can take advantage of Trinity Health’s
online refresher program. The program brings nurses up to
date with hospital technology and standards, allowing them
to ease back into the clinical setting.
The Web-based technology also is used to support nurses returning
to school to complete their BSN, and enhance learning and
career development opportunities.
Leadership Development
Front line manager development has been identified as a key
strategy directly related to recruitment and retention, quality
of care, cost effective delivery of care and customer satisfaction.
A leadership academy has been piloted with clinical managers
from a significant number of Trinity Health member organizations.
This program will be rolled out across all member organizations
as desired by the local entity. |
